Dreams Do Come True
We have often thought that someday, when we have more
money/time/energy/whatever at our disposal, we’d like to make people’s
dreams come true. After all, we need very little in order to be perfectly
happy, so if we have some abundance, why not share?
The funny thing about human nature, though, is that it can sometimes seem
like we never have ‘abundance’. Not too long ago we were living in town,
doing interior painting as our job, and didn’t have nearly the abundance
that we do now. Oddly, we were still happy. Now we have six acres of
beautiful woods to play in, we have our horses and our little cottage,
good food and campfires every night if we want. We have lots more than
before, but
can still sometimes feel like we don’t have ‘abundance’.

What this has shown us is that abundance is a state of mind. We may not
have a six-figure income, but we’re still very wealthy if we take the time
to truly look around us and see what we have.
This all became very tangible the other day when we plotted with some
friends of ours and found a way that Valkyrie, one of our horses, could
find a new home with a young teenager. This girl, Maeve, rode Val all last
year, and the two of them were amazing together, doing lots of jumping.
Maeve even rode Val in competitions. It seemed the two of them were meant
to be together, but due to a variety of circumstances, it just didn’t look
like it would work out. A few months of creative thinking, though, and
some good friends of ours agreed to take Val under their care and keep her
at the barn where Maeve will be working this summer, allowing Maeve and
Val to be together again.
It was sad to see our beautiful Valkyrie go, but so heartwarming to see
Maeve’s joy when she was surprised by Val’s arrival. As for us, we can’t
wait to go this summer and see Maeve and Val leaping over jumps and
competing in the dressage ring.
Together with some friends, we were able to help make a young girl’s dream
come true. It seems we don’t have to wait until we’re ‘rich’ after all--
abundance is something we can create whenever we choose.
